A visual journey through the centuries of Ukrainian history, embodied in twelve unique pictograms. Each symbol captures the essence of its time, from ancient ornaments to the defining characteristics of each period. Designed by Ornella Ostapenko, these icons took physical form through a groundbreaking process: they were “grown” from living rhizomes by Diana Bilichenko. This fusion of graphic code and organic matter transforms history into a tangible art object, where every root and line is saturated with the memory of generations.
