This series is a visual exploration of the fleeting beauty of Kyiv. Each work meticulously recreates the patterns of the original Mettlach tiles that adorned the entrances of the capital’s historic apartment houses more than a century ago.
The project is dedicated to Serhii Myronov, whose passion and devotion to preserving Kyiv’s architectural heritage became the primary inspiration for this series. “The Vanishing Mettlach” is an attempt to capture through art what time and indifference are erasing from the city map—a tribute to the memory of a true guardian of Kyiv’s antiquity.
