This project is an attempt to intertwine threads of family memory with national symbols to transform personal history into tangible art. Through two headpieces, the author explores different facets of female destiny and the continuity of generations.
The first object is a reimagining of the Ukrainian wreath as a traditional form and historical amulet to create a bridge to one’s roots. Interweaving elements of family history transforms the wreath from a decorative item into a living genealogical code with the memory of ancestors and ancestral strength in every flower.
The second object is a classic Soviet-era headscarf embedded with replicas of wartime letters. Real lines from a relative at the front become part of the fabric itself to turn an everyday item into a manifesto of waiting and loyalty.
Together, these adornments create a dialogue between vibrant folk tradition and harsh historical truth within a single family archive.
